Wild Yahare Chirinos Romero
Wild Yahare Chirinos Romero entered the US in December 2024. He is now among the men who were expelled to CECOT.
Coming to the US:
Wild migrated to Santa Marta, Colombia in 2017 to help his mother due to the critical food situation in Venezuela. He later moved to Bogota where he worked recycling with his wife. Faced with the need to improve their situation, Wild, his wife, and her youngest daughter decided to journey to the US. Wild is also a tattoo artist.
The family traveled through the Darien jungle for four months arriving in Mexico where Wild established a small barbershop business. In Decmber 2024 he received notification of an appointment for CBP processing. He was instructed to raise $1500 for tickets which he did, and on December 28, 2024 he traveled to Texas.
Upon arriving in Texas, a benefactor took the family in until January 2 when they were to report to immigration authorities.
Detainment and Expulsion
At that appointment, Wild’s wife and daughter were released, but he was detained on the allegation that his tattoos were related to his alleged membership in the Tren de Aragua gang. He was taken to Valle City Facility where his wife was able to visit him once. Although Wild was screened and passed a credible fear interview, his hearing dates had been postponed, with the most recent hearing scheduled for May 13, 2025.
On March 2, 2025 Wild was transferred to Villa City, a high security prison. His wife observed in her one visit with him that he had lost a lot of weight and had difficulty eating.
On March 14, Wild contacted his sister that he was being deported. He told his wife that his clothes, tattoo and shaving machine had been returned to him along with documents indicating he was being deported to Venezuela. His family found his name on the list of men who had been sent to CECOT.
