Deiben Iradan Gualtero Quiroz
Deiben Iradan Gualtero Quiroz is a 39 year old Venezuelan who left with the intention of improving the lives of his five children. Instead he is one of the Venezuelan men sitting in CECOT.
Coming to the US
According to his mother, Deibin crossed Colombia and Mexico working ad a furniture salesman and home repairman. When he crossed the border in December of 2024, he turned himself into immigration authorities while he waited to legalize his situation. He spent time in the Houston Processing Center and the Joe Corley Detention Facility where he kept in touch with his family. In February he was transferred to the El Paso County Detention Center. In March he was transferred to CECOT in El Salvador.
Denial of gang affiliation
As with the other men who were deported to CECOT, it is claimed that Deibin’s tattoos link him to Tren de Aragua. Like other men, Deibin’s mother said he is not part of a criminal gang but was simply looking for a better life for his family.
